ROCK!
What is the fun in having audio software toys, if we don’t play with them. Decided to run one previously not remixed Hidden Treasure pell through Izotope Vocal Synth 2 and remix whatever happened. Chose “The Crushed Bots” preset that adds +7, -12, +4 pitches to the voice then further mutilates the voice.
Expected to create a chaotic industrial remix, but was pleasantly surprised when Ivan’s pell emerged from the synthetic torment like a rocker with a guttural voice that my son enjoyed (over and over and over again) during the 1990s.
Tracked Ivan’s pell with rhythm guitar samples to establish tonality. Added drum, bass and lead using samples from our library.
Digging the results, decides to add David Edward Clore’s Lofi Barroom Crowd Noise 1979, ccmixter.org and other voices within the bar crowd, an ElRon guitar lead and a reamped Haskel wah wah guitar lead.
Like utterances repeated by folks in bars, reused some favorite lines from previous TRF mixes with the crowd noise.
Left To Die Alone by coruscate, Relaxation Tip - Listen To Pain by Gordon Rosenberg and Intro To Silly Mantis by Silly Mantis are also hidden treasures sampled and remixed here for the first time.
