Three Friends
Subliminal
After using Ruggea’s Where Earth Meets Sea (a love story) as a backing voice to part of my version of Anchor’s O(h) My Antonia (and lets be honest, you could do worse than that), I thought that it would only be fair to do her voice and poems a bit more justice and base a whole song on her poem Three Friends.
As musical background I used an adaptation of an ‘old’ song of mine, called Which Way To Leicester Square, which was based on an acoutic guitar loop taken from a recording I had made of a song written and performed by Edwin van Buuringen (which kinda sounds as Edward van Halen, but ofcourse isn’t the same, although they both are born in the same part of the country…but I digress).
I have added the acoustic guitar loop to this song for those who feel the urge to use it in a remix. The tempo is 115 bpm and the time signatures are three measures of 15/8 and one of 16/8.
