Orion in Winter
PorchCat
Concept: SackJo noted “As “The White Cube” takes place in a winter season in Norway, the idea of art as white lights amid a dark night on a seemingly moonless sky motivates the background of the piece.” There have been wonderfully crisp, cool autumn nights where I reside. I have taken the pleasure of occasionally going outside to lay on the cool asphalt and stare at the sky. The overwhelming peace and beauty of the night consumes me in those moments. There are wisps and crackles at the corners of my mind, delightful and not disturbing. In the same way, (when they let me) I love to lay down on the floor of a gallery and become absorbed in a piece that pulls at the strings of my soul. I become lost in the gentle warmth of the artistry. The work becomes the comforting stars on a cold night.
—-
I am given a reprieve,
from the daily noise,
freedom from the daily grind,
a gift of forgetfulness,
a blessing of memory.
drifting away and away,
into the sea of suns,
alien worlds unreachable,
yet touching,
like the soul of a lover.
here and now fade away,
there and then become phantoms,
there is only this moment,
this perfect moment,
of stillness and joy.
