Echolalia
Echolalia is the alter ego of Brian Burkhard, the former lead of ’90s alternative rockers Fondly. Moving into sample-heavy electronica after the band split, Burkhard began taking sounds from yoga tapes, sports matches, Casio keyboards, educational albums, and the occasional real life instrument. His efforts resulted in Solid State Alone, the first Echolalia release, in 2002.
In 2004, Burkhard won a loop contest held by Chicago’s Engine studios. He will be recording in the esteemed studio this year and plans on a release by Fall 2005.
