Cryogenica
Cryogenica has been described as a myriad of industrial and electro with gothic vibes, influenced by Siouxsie Sioux, Nine Inch Nails, Portishead, Curve, The Birthday Massacre, and Marilyn Manson.
The live set is technologically advanced, including ‘Ableton Live 7’ sequencing software to control a backing track with triggers, samples, synths and pads. This is directed into the venue’s PA system to provide an encompassing and dynamic sound experience to augment the live instruments and vocals. In doing so, they have often been commended for their energy and professional stage presence during each performance.
Since their debut show at Madame JoJo’s in March 2007, the band has performed regularly, developing a fan-base reaching beyond their home ground of London.
They have played in excess to 200 people at The Underworld in Camden supporting ‘Racine’ (Wendy James formally of Transvision Vamp), and again supporting electro/ industrial icons ‘Sheep On Drugs’.
Their debut LP was independently released in May 2007 via ‘iTunes’, ‘Napster’, and ‘Lala’ with a worldwide contract. All material from writing and production, to graphics design was undertaken by the band, providing a singular artistic concept. An EP ‘She (An Ode To Helena)’ has been released as a [free] promotional package from their website. As a single, ‘She’ went on to receive airplay from US radio show ‘The Ungodly Hour’ alongside ‘Gravity Kills’ and ‘MDFMK’ amongst others.
Following their performance at ‘Black Planet’ in February 2008, the band was nominated for an Indy Award in the ‘Best Alternative’ category.
