Disappointed (punk by numbers stems pack)
stellarartwars
A box of samples to help you build your own customised pogo-ing punk track. The band are stuck in the late seventies/eighties which is great as you wouldn’t know this was made just a few years ago otherwise. All played live, no click track, though we reckon it’s around 140-170 bpm.
3 different vocals to chose from, extra vocals in the second pack.
PACK 1
The Disappointed In Steve Kemp Workshop
Andy wrote this song (which is a little bit bitchy but not malicious and we’re all still mates) - after getting kicked out of Dog Salad along with Twiggy. The band used to be called GUTT, which Twiggy came up with apparantly because it sounds er, gutsy. We think a dog salad is possibly something you may find in a New York deli. But we don’t live in New York and can’t even be arsed to google and find out.
History so repeated itself and this time it was drummer who decided he couldn’t stand Andy’s irratic playing . But try finding another bassist that will play with us…. We warned him. So ASBO came to grief in a similar fashion.
Anyway, Twiggy and Andy are working together again as producers and there’s possibly some live stuff coming along. This track is likely to emerge with a female vocalist and thus considering who the singer is likely to go in a Noisettes-ish sort of direction. (noisettes means nuts in french and we’re absolute nuts ourselves). go baby go baby go is what the sega dreamcast game tee off says if you get a particular good drive. we love our video golf wedo. Andy got an albatross last week!
We’re giving you a sneek peak into Patricks basement. Patrick is Austrian, and we’ve all heard about what Austrians do in their DIY projects. This is the band ASBO jamming in August 2008 straight on to reel to reel tape. Twiggy and Andy have done some rough overdubs on the tape. It’s all live so no clicktrack or fixed tempo , though it’s roughly 120bpm
Andy has dubbed some extra guitars, backup vocals and keys on this track , included as 2 stereo pairs labeled overdubz 1 / 2 . The other multitracks are stereo mp3s as required by this site.
This particular track is being made Public Domain (it’s a fairly disposable song) so you are free to cover, remix or otherwise use, even for profit, without needing our permission. Please tell us if any derivative works are to be released though - good manners and we’d love to hear them. The free license project is our way of experimenting with the directions of the track by letting others share the development, plus we’d always like another chart hit!. If you’d like to help us, sample the various sounds- save us some work. You can always use them too royalty free.
A real rehersal session, all live musos.
Stephe Branch , lead vocals and guitars
Andy Wainwright , backing vocals , guitars , bass and keyboards
Pat Goss , drums. His family know him as Patrick Auer though. But Bros were loads better than Oasis. Apart from Definately Maybe but even that was a bit iffy lyric wise and Andy’s sister Lisa used to wind him up with “your musics’ shite, it keeps me up all night, up all night) . Poor Andy already has been prone to thinking songs on the radio are about him, and this doesn’t help really does it.
Written by Wainwright/Branch . Produced by Stellar ARt Wars. Engineered by Twiggy. Mixed by Andy Pop
Enjoy the fun and join us.
PACK 2
This is an add on pack for the Disappointed In Steve Kemp workshop. Everything here is completely public domain, and may be sampled and/or covered/remixed without need for permision or payment.
Maybe today I’m even more disappointed in Steve Kemp . And the whole concept of credibility. And respectability. Take or leave us , that’s all we can say really.
Written by Branch/Wainwright. Performed by ASBO. Produced by WWB for Stellar Art Wars promotions. Public Domain sound recording and music publishing 2009
