I met Leland/ oberonskye (and Jaff/Anchor) once. Not for long enough that I can say I knew him. But I can certainly say I would have liked to.

One of the hardest (and weirdest) things about getting older is people in your age group (and sphere of awareness) ceasing to exist. And knowing (I mean really knowing) your turn is coming.
