Her Escape
Snowflake
How can I thank Airtone for all he’s done for ccMixter, especially the past many months? (the new logo is amazing and he’s done/doing so much more…) This remix is in his honor.
I don’t know what I’d do without music. Collaborating at ccMixter lifts me out of depression and inspires me to keep creating, despite all of my flaws and dysfunction. Thank you all for providing a positive place to nourish my soul.
The Band:
Airtone - strings, pad, synth, rhythm, harp, vibe
Javolenus - acoustic guitar
mwic - guitar solo
Admiral Bob - drum kit
Robbero - loop
Snowflake - vocals, piano, harmonium, bass, space station
Her Escape
by Madam Snowflake
Awkward
At a loss for words
She’s stimming and rocking
Backward and forward
On another stage
With white hot lights ablaze
With eyes closed she rides the bench
Of the piano sideways
The guitar starts to play
Then the crowd begins to fade
To the four in the floor
And bass melody she sways
Her voice sounds far away
As she’s singing ‘bout her pain
Oh the music forms a door
Opens a door
For her escape
Escape
Obsessive-compulsive she’s wasting her time
Fussing, adjusting odd things in a line
She can’t fall asleep hyperactive she thinks
Every thought in her mind, a solution to find
Dissociated she’s injured all the time
Rushing faster and faster
Straight into disaster
With lack of attention, she waits
In her head she feels safe
With the realms she creates
It’s through music she makes her escape
When the guitar starts to play
And the crowd begins to fade
To the four in the floor
And bass melody she sways
Her voice sounds far away
As she’s singing ‘bout her pain
Oh the music forms a door
Opens a door
For her escape
Escape

And the crowd begins to fade
To the four in the floor
And bass melody she sways
Her voice sounds far away
The piano sings her pain
Oh the music forms a door
Opens a door
For her escape
Escape
Awkward
At a loss for words
It’s music that saves her
