Here’s the second song from a recent song writing session with Maddy.

There is a preview of rough mix of the song,
and flacs of the instrumental parts

There’s three vocal files,
1. a mp3 wet preview
2. A dry FLAC (some of the effects were haed to remove)
3. a dryer? FLAC - dry as I could get her

“Unboxed Heart”

My unboxed heart
dying light
every time I opened up
you pushed her back inside

My unboxed heart
you were the first to see
I thought you’d be the last
‘guess the joke’s on me?

Breathe it in…
Remember that feeling of being defeated?
Breathe it out…
You burn my soul
and now you want forgiveness?

Tears are bleeding to the grass
couldn’t make it greener
no matter how much time had passed
they say I am a dreamer
but all this time I was your porn
what a bitter pill to swallow
shields are raised and swords are drawn
out of love we borrow

So why dont you take every last piece of me
take my heart lost without liberty
when I look in the mirror
the person I see - is not me?

My unboxed heart
My dreams undone
disavowed my falling house of cards
just split and run

My unboxed heart
For all to see
you have laid out to bare every scar I bleed

Dreams unwind…
remember that feeling of regret that lingers
Soul divides…
in the light of day
you want me to forget this?

So why dont you take every last piece of me?
take my heart lost without liberty
when I look in the mirror
the person I see - is not me?
Set me free!

So why dont you take every last piece of me?
take my heart lost without liberty
when I look in the mirror
the person I see - is not me?
Set me free!
