Here’s a feel good song about seeing Christmas through the eyes of my children and rediscovering the magic that had sadly faded before they relit the joy of Christmas for me.

Tried to think right back
to when Im young
this time of year was kind of fun
when baby Jesus did his merry dance for me

And I knew the season had begun
when the shopping queue stretched to the sun
and that musac piped them Christmas carols constantly

But I lost that feeling in my youth
sometime when I found the truth
that Santa was a sham my parents fed to me
and that angel sitting on our tree
wasnt looking out oh just for me
and the three wise men
there just some bums from the city street

And now I’m older and I’m wiser now
I got a baby on my knee
and when I heard the bells a ringing in the distance
now it sounds like Christmas time for me

Now I’ve packed away up all my grinch
cynicism with a pinch
of extra nutmeg in my eggnog finally
And I sing the tenor for
the band
right across this Christmas land
and we hark those herald angels till our noses bleed

And I seek that hint of early snow
guessn where the reindeer go
and jolly old St Nick
is now a friend to me
Wanna keep the tree up all year round
waitn for that Christmas sound
and the joy and smiles it brings upon my family

And now I’m older and I’m wiser now

and when she heard the bells a ringing in the distance
now it sounds like Christmas time to me!
