crabbing
Another poem (prose poem if you’re into classification and genres!) inspired by time spent at our shack in South Australia’s ‘Gulf Country.’
When I spend some hours in a landscape by myself (like when I’m fishing or crabbing) I find it easy to see myself as just a small part of the universe or just another species, no more or less important than all the others. Thoughts pass through my mind and out again, like meditation. This poem is a memory of one of those times. It has been published recently in Rabbit Poetry Journal based in Australia. (The journal is a subscription-based print-publication so I won’t breach its copyright by publishing the text.) The complete title is “crabbing from james well to rogues point.”
Thanks to Martijn and Javolenus for perfect music and digifishmus & ahill86 for the seashore (53428) and gull (207130) FX from Freesound.
