This is mostly me just playing with myself again (if you’ll pardon the expression…_)
However I owe a big debt to Javolenus yet again for his very cool jazz guitar riff which inspired (and is the backbone of) the whole exercise. I had a lot of trouble learning how to play in E minor, flattening blues notes and bending notes on the shakuhachi, so it was a great learning experience if nothing else. Every time I got a spare moment over the last month or so I’d add another track or phrase. So I can never repeat this in live performance! It still sounded a bit “lite” in the middle section so once again I’ve reached for the trusty ukulele and added some heavy-duty echo to fatten it up. I still think it lacks something at the bottom end, but my bass is 7700 km away and I have to leave something for you talented mixters to add.
Thanks for the riff, Javo. Hope I’ve done it justice.
