Jellyfish
robwalkerpoet
jellyfish
we rowed out into the gulf in the tinnie
insignificant in a sea of pulsating parasols
close open close open close
sea in a membrane in a sea
the brain a fourleaf
clover tint
singlemindedly pulsing
with outgoing tide
heading for open water
soft plopping on aluminium sides
mile after mile a sea of jelly
so thick
we encased in metal
enveloped in this soft parade
a tin of sardines
adrift
in a sea
of jelly

Thanks to Dokashiteru for the beautiful pulsing composition and sensitive playing which lent itself so perfectly to a poem I wrote some years ago.
[I’ve uploaded files of the music without the poem (but including sea sounds) plus a clean dry vocal stem if anyone wants to interpret the poem in a completely different way.]
