Reading the announcement of the SOPA Strike let me think about how privileged we really are.

While fighting for our personal freedoms and rights we often forget that the ability to do so is a luxury that a lot of people don’t share. There are Billions of people all over the world who are not free from inhumane treatment, from persecution based on race, gender or religion. Who are not free from poverty and exploitation, who don’t have the right for free speech, free elections.

While standing up for our own liberties, while ‘Occupying’, while protesting against internet censorship (And don’t get me wrong - I bow to everyone who raises his voice against injustice and I really appreciate that ccMixter adopts political position) we shouldn’t forget those who are voiceless, those who are not free to claim their freedom.
