On The Tree Line
panu
This is a country song written this weekend about the universal theme of loss. In this case it’s about loss of the permanent variety.
v.1 the rain’s wrinkling on the windowpane, and it’s dripping off of the tree line, it’s as if your soul is here, softly calling me. i don’t know if and i don’t know how, one heart can save the day. it was on a day like this, when you went away.
ch. time after time, i told myself i’d make it up to you, now that you’ve gone away, that’s still what i’m trying to do.
v.2 pretty flowers in the yard, pictures in the hall, two hearts like open windows, for everyone to see. i took it all for granted, and too soon it slipped away. one heart learned its lesson, when you went away.
sample 2 is a scratch demo w/ guitar.
