A couple days ago I asked Martijn de Boer (NiGiD), if it counts as a remix if I add some vinyl cracking and cut of the base to make his remix lo-fi. The answer was ambigous. Yet I started.
And as most of the times, I started with a happy accident. I imported his remix and did not adjust the tempo. The result made me very happy. So I proceeded. Naturally a song with a length of 2:40 is even shorter if played double tempo, so I had to fill the gaps.
Gave NiGiD’s bass line a little more presence, replayed darkroom’s drums and made them sound a little bit more dnb’ish. Another section is the melodic part with some tape delay.
Last but not least I added a Hi-Pass and some subtle vincyl cracking. I’m really happy with the result.
