This assignment was a bit difficult since Mana Junkie never uploads any stems, and most of his or her mixes are too dense to add anything more to them. I eventually found “Long Live Water” and thought it worth a try. Particulary the lyrics by Colin Mutchler attracted me.

When listening to the lyrics I had the vision to add something to the music that emphasises the lyrics’ topic. Thus I added a background water trickling (“A creek in a forest” by NikeRan @freesound.org). Where Colin sings the disharmonic refrain I countered it with a little melody played on one of my kalimbas. Certain parts of the song are emphasised by whale song (“Diving with whales” by Kevoy @freesound.org).
