For whatever reason, post-punk kind of snuck past me until a few years ago, even though I quite enjoy a lot of the offshoot genres like Shoegaze that have their roots specifically in the UK post-punk movement.

So I had this riff where I played bass with a pick over the bridge pickup, to get that punchy sound, and honestly, kinda found the song as I went along.

Also, I had trouble placing that particular chord pattern that the riff was based on, at least while I was recording it. In hindsight, the song I was thinking of was Bodies by The Smashing Pumpkins.
