The main lick for this tune came entirely out of a short improv that I’d recorded the night before, and it all made perfect sense in my head. The plan, then, was to go for a “meat and potatoes” rock song arrangement, and in doing so, I began to realize that this was all a bit more odd than I’d originally imagined.

Once again, the main riff contains a half-bar, and I swear I’m not doing that on purpose to mess you up, it just felt completely natural when I came up with the riff, and I didn’t realize until I started thinking about how drums would fit with it. So again, if you don’t want to deal with that, double the tempo to 168bpm and then treat the song as though it were in half-time.
