Ivory (a triptych)
jaspertine
I absolutely love ReznorIsTalent’s piano playing and wanted badly to do something with it, which turned out to be quite a challenge.
I’d get something I liked, I’d roll with it, and then for one reason or another, it just wouldn’t mix with the rest of the track. In the end, I wound up with a lot of parts I liked that I just couldn’t fit together into a whole.
After weeks of frustration, what I wound up doing was separating the track into three distinct pieces, using RIT’s piano in the first and third pieces as bookends for the middle part, which is made up entirely of my own sounds, but hopefully there’s enough of a tonal connection that it all flows.
The first part is my personal favourite. I could leave those loops playing forever.
