Back in Uni, I enrolled in a music course to fill an arts requirement. I went to the first class and dropped it immediately after (it wasn’t just music history—they wanted us to be able to /play/ this stuff!). It was a course solely dedicated to Theloneous Monk. And though it was too advanced for me, there were some fascinating insights to music and remixing: change the genre; change the timing; change the key; but never touch the melody.
