When I was assigned Sackjo22, I knew that I am never able to do justice to her varied and capable ‘pellas, mixes and music. But this past few days focused me on a single track, which fits nicely with my somewhat one-track approach.

This week the news is full of crimes committed by folks in Baghdad, in Beirut, and in Paris who think that killing folks as they shop or listen to music is acceptable.

So much is wrong with a world in which such criminal misconduct exists that Sackjo22’s Halloween spoken word track speaks to me in a way past its holiday topical tone.

So I added a modest setting to this spoken word piece, in an effort to hear it anew.

I hope for a world with less of this kind of macabre Halloween.
