The Same But Different

gurdonark

This experimental piece takes Lisa DeBenedictis’ a cappella “Brilliant Day” vocals in .wav form, and converts the same vocals to MIDI format using the “Wave Goodbye” freeware software. The resulting MIDI track is then converted to a music notation score using the Musedit software. The resulting score is then reconfigured to be played by the MIDI fx instrument termed “goblins” and then sampled in the Slicer freeware sampler. The result is a “Brilliant Day” which is a bit more discordant than any other day, but still imbued, I hope, with a bit of the optimism of a couple sitting hand in hand, in an interrogation room.
