Making Tracks
debbizo
An experimental track using a voice generator to read the spoken word.
The idea is a track about the mixing process and the interaction between human/human voice and technology. Unfortunately there is a little distortion in a couple of spots - I just couldn’t get rid of it. I hope the stems are useful to someone.
Thanks for the review Panu
Making Tracks
Track one – set tempo and load a beat
stretch it out for the length of a song
imagine the words delivered in sync
Track two – a bass line and a little sub bass
to engage the solar plexus
Track three – an atmospheric synth loop
created on an iPhone and resequenced
to fabricate music
Track four – perhaps a sexy sax riff
Five – begin to build the spoken word
boost the too quiet voice
and quadruple the tracks
pan one left, one right, two centre
chop here and there to space delivery
align with the beat and alter the key
better in B flat or cleaner in C?
another instrument to make it sound right
cello, flute or guitar lead?
try them all and choose just one
tinker with volume and EQ
add some reverb to the vocals
auto pan the instrumentals
d e l a y e f f e c t t o t h a t k e y p h r a s e
play it back
play it again
refine the mix
render to mp3
upload.
