The Swing
debbizo
Note* there is a “badly played violin” referred to in this poem…but I am in no way referring to the excellent violin piece by stringfactory!

The Swing
The swing is a musical instrument.
The sound of a badly played violin
when bow grates across strings.
It sings rhythm and rust.
A violin with seats and room for standing.
It draws the shrieks of children’s voices
through the blue score of the sky.
It is a concert of dischords
with its creaks and screams
that counterpoint the tune –
but always the
