Spring Break at the Beach with a Kimono
SackJo22
I put together this quick mix for a performance on Sunday 4/13/14 at Catsby by IDC (Improv Dance Company) in Los Angeles. When the project started it was all about spring break at the beach then it broadened to focus just on spring break and then it expanded further to include Japanese elements (the event is titled “Japanese Spring Festival”). Accordingly, this mash up includes some music inspired by Frankie & Annette beach blanket bingo fun, a nod to the party sounds of reggae and Euro disco, and the incorporation of Japanese Taiko drums. All of this for fun, of course!
Thank you IDC for inviting me to play along!
Thanks also to Robinhood at Freesound who so graciously shared the sound of radio-tuning I incorporated in the track.
I also included a couple of my remixes: For Real and One for Me.
