Sometimes we want to run away but for most common sense kicks in and we remain where we are.
I have taken Unreal’s guitars and given them a little processing. Unreal’s piano part has been replaced with a more plaintive piano sound but his original chord structure led the way. RTB provided the additional vocals and the sax solos
I have tried to grow wings just to fly from my home
To the pastures of plenty in the land of the free
But the wind keeps diverging and I am alone
There’s little to cherish and far less to see
And you in your raincoat you look so attractive
The scars on your wrists and the scent of your fire
All of your beauty like some kind of magic
Brings me to your door like some unashamed liar
There’s justice in searching for truth and redemption
Hope in the eyes of the coldest of men
And the women return from the river and mention
That the fishes are gone and the waters poisoned
We’ve got some stories some innocent mysteries
A look on our faces like we know it all
And you with your sad eyes and unwelcome history
Could blow all our cover when pride lets us fall
