The Voices Of Blue Trains
Radioontheshelf
In the early sixties my Mother and I would travel on the Great Western Railway from our home just outside of Bath in England to my Grandmothers house in Brynmenyn in South Wales. At this time the carriages were still pulled by steam trains and I can still see them and remember the smell as these wonders of mass transportation lay waiting to convey us in a steam filled adventure to our destination.
This piece of music is an evocation to those times.
Many thanks to Robert Warrington for his spoken poem
