Waiting For The Boats
Radioontheshelf
We see the pictures on our screens of the sad images of those that have sailed across the English Channel to find better homes on our shores. What we do not see are those that never made it. The unpredictable ocean and the fraility of inflated boats that now lie at the bottom of the sea have all conspired to take their lives.
We will never hopefully experience the despair and the optimism that those who risk all will feel as they sit in the darkness awaiting the boat that will ferry them to a new but uncertain life. Often it is not just their homes but also their loved ones that they leave behind
Many thanks to Leza for a wonderful vocal, beautifully recorded that has allowed me to rephrase and repitch it. Her words seem to fit my thoughts for the lonely immigrants who still muster on the shores of France.
Thanks again to the boys and girls for the backing vocals
