I live comfortably. I have most of the things I want and all that I really need. Others through no fault of their own were born into much harsher lives. They move from day to day with the uncertainty that Middle East politics showers down on them. We with our home baked civilised notions intervene for a little time into their desperate lives only to depart leaving things in a much worse state.
