The most popular keys for the blues are E and A with a good dosing of a major third. Here Mr Yesterday throws caution to the wind and gets on board with a nice big D major and in doing so offers us a great vocal and lyric . I only used his vocal on this track but the melody is all based around his understated piano. To give the girls some room to perform I did take the middle eights down to A minor but the mix is inspired by Mr Y’s wonderful performance.

I am a great believer in the theory that songs are all around us. We just need a good enough net to catch them. I guess that’s how Paul McCartney got to Yesterday before me!!!
