The Sally Girl
Radioontheshelf
Every shoreline has a Sally Girl. You just have to be there at the right time and with an open heart and mind. They do not stay for long and in their going they leave an empty space never to be filled.
Wonderful backing track by two of CCM’s finest ambassadors.
Where Sally walked the clouds remained
Her gentle presence left the tears
Her laughter broke your heart
And through the night you heard her howl
A scream for all her troubled days
Where light denied her truth
I will sing to heal the shading tree
Where she would rest her love
And suspend her beliefs
For rising tides might curse the shore
Waves approaching dangerously
To take her home to silence
For now the dawn must wait its turn
The gentle thoughts be still
As she prepares her party piece
Fortune remains but too aloof
It waves its tattered hand
To crowds of fools
But in the distance blurred by rain
The Sally girl is dancing again
