Young Blood (Repeated Poetry)
Joel Frijters
This was written for a friend when I was living in Ottawa, Ontario (Canada). Wet (echo) and Dry (as Toast) mixes are uploaded. The words are below:
young blood is what feeds my tender soul
completes and enthralls my savéd splendor
thrusting like unrelenting winter on the door
of my room
sharp deep blue filters through my lungs
like my idiot friends and their obsessions
i sit and cramp and love
in my room
calculated steps and calculated steps
my body aches and yearns for a sleep
that won’t ever come
to my room
strung out piano and a bassline
which twitches and burns
sooth my ache
reverse my steps
educate my love
thrust and calm
me
in my room
young blood is what feeds my tender soul
completes and enthralls my savéd splendor
thrusting like unrelenting winter on the door
of my room
sharp deep blue filters through my lungs
like my idiot friends and their obsessions
i sit and cramp and love
in my room
calculated steps and calculated steps
my body aches and yearns for a sleep
that won’t ever come
to my room
strung out piano and a bassline
which twitches and burns
sooth my ache
reverse my steps
educate my love
thrust and calm
me
in my room
