Poem below
Love evaded me for fifty years
800 thread counts to 250 to 1200
whites, blues, pinks, blacks
but when I saw you
I wanted to not just know your
name, but remember it,
etch it into my skin
carry you across my arms
then it happened
How could it be that you are something you are not,
something I can not see
My world unraveled with this revelation
Its a joke right,
like Nephew Tommy pranking me
its a joke right
Heats rises in my ears like a gong
can I laugh yet
vulgarity presses my lips
my heart races for words of praise
man, this is a joke right,
you saying I laid next to a man for years and knew nothing
this is a joke right
am a Man, you look like a woman all over, all over
you a man, its gotta be a joke right
its got to be a bad, bad, bad dream
my hands catch my sweat
