Fine Words (Flung To The Winds)
Javolenus
Demo of a song idea that I cooked up today—inspired by John Martyn’s “Bless The Weather”. Recorded on a 5-string acoustic guitar (i.e. one string missing, broken) with some 12-string guitar arpeggios. I’ll add dry stems. Lyrics:
CHORUS
Fine words flung to the winds
Fine words flung to the winds …
*
So many times you told me
You’d never roam
So many lies you sold me
Bout coming home
*
Time after time you’d tell me
you’re settling down
Gonna get a job downtown
And hold the bugger down
*
So many times you wrote me
Bout our special thing
So many times you quote me
Promises on golden rings
*
Time after time you sang me
Silver lullabyes
So many times you rang me
Just to Whisper some sweet lies
*
CHORUS
Fine words flung to the winds
Fine words flung to the winds …
*
So many times you told me
You’d never roam
So many lies you sold me
Bout coming home
*
Time after time you’d tell me
you’re settling down
Gonna get a job downtown
And hold the bugger down
*
So many times you wrote me
Bout our special thing
So many times you quote me
Promises on golden rings
*
Time after time you sang me
Silver lullabyes
So many times you rang me
Just to Whisper some sweet lies
