This one is meant as a challenge to the listener. Don’t get me wrong, I love and appreciate anyone who would listen to my music… but this one goes out on a limb as far as lyrics and rhythmic composition. At one point; Acoustic traps, analog drum machine, and the original sample are integrated into a less than conventional rhythm.
The lyrics are not anything you will ever hear on the radio. And so
my friends, I ask you, as I stand upon my soap box; Are we trying to be like the radio? or are we free to follow our artistry wherever it may take us, supporting each other as artists; with a curious eye towards the herd of pop culture.
My fellow artists, we are free! I urge you to break the mold, crack the code; do yer own damn thing without trying to appeal to what you think will be popular. Let’s make ourselves something different from the radio.
