Uathach

Dreamonizer

This track is dedicated to the celtic goddess Uathach (pronounced as Oothach), according to history, one says it is a warrior goddess and for other sources tell it is a goddess of forbidden love and fertility. I wrote my poëm not with this completely in mind and took a creative turn to try to incorporate both stories ending up with a rather fantasy like goddess. So purists don’t get angry please, it is not meant to be a history lesson, it is more my affinity with celtic pagan history as a complete that speaks.

Javolenus his flute (pitched up a few semitones) and Speck’s birds give a nice ambience of the Celtic Highlands.

The chanting female voice is not AI, it is opus VST with EW hollywood fantasy voices, a sort of sample based vocals. I would have liked to incororate such like voice samples from ccmixter, but I cannot find anything like this, so when someone feels creative and wants to help me and others with these kind of chants, be free and load up your voice….The poëm voice is my own voice, there have never been found any chips inside my head, so I guess that is not AI either. :P

Please don’t mind my rather thick dutch accent….

Lyrics:

Beneath a cold and silent moon,
Uathach stands in wind and mist.
Daughter of shadow, storm, and fire,
unchanged by time, unseen, untamed.

Beneath the moon’s pale silver light,
Uathach moves like whispered flame.
Goddess of longing, love, and shadow,
softly calling your hidden name.

VST’s used; Serum, Vital, Sylenth, Thor, Royotoms (Quilcom free VST), Friktion Modeled Strings (violins, ethnic strings), Hellraiser (guitars), Opus, Sampler inside Reaper, Reason Effects, 135 bpm.

For people who like, strange effects and synths and vst’s, it is worth to take a look on youtube and search for Quilcom, by Rex Basterfield, he has a large library of free vst’s, with lots of ethnic instruments and effects. (pipe organ, hurdy gurdy, bagpipes, etc.)

I included almost all of the stems, the only ones left out are the altered stems from Javolenus and the birds from Speck, those you can find at their songs page. The female voice chanting is left out because although Opus approves of the use of the stems in a commercial or non-commercial track, the offering of unmixed stems is prohibited. But i suppose that when you want to use the stems, you are not wanting to create exact the same as i did. Have fun!!!
