We See Through Them

Hi everyone,
This is the first time I’ve used AI to create a song, and I honestly spent quite a while wondering whether I should post it here at all.
Kara’s lyrics — which are themselves about AI and the people running it — were supposed to be the starting point. I also wanted to do this without spending any money, so finding a platform that would actually work with the entire set of lyrics turned out to be quite a challenge.
In the end, I only entered three prompts:
Genre: Indie Folk
Singer: Female, emotional
BPM: 80–120
I then imported one of the four generated versions into Ableton Live, remixed the individual tracks and made a few small changes to the ending.
You can hear the result here.
And honestly, I find it almost disturbingly good. And that’s exactly what bothers me.
Where does this leave all our DAWs, plugins and hardware — and ultimately even a community like ccMixter — if creating something like this becomes so easy and, in the end, the only thing that matters is the result?
