Fading Things

Well, I tried several different approaches on this one, each failing miserably - and each failure always led me back to Admiral Bob’s original version.
So, I basically stayed true to his original. I did change all of the instruments (re-recorded everything), and altered the piano arpeggios. The piano part was played on a Yamaha, bass on an Ibanez, all guitar parts on a 1984 Fender Strat, drums by EZ Drummer (played on my midi controller) and I threw some strings in just for fun towards the end.
After all is said and done, I don’t think this version is much different than the Admiral’s, and pales in comparison.
Once again, this exercise proves it is difficult to “cover” an original like him. So, a huge thanks to Admiral Bob, for posting this wonderful pella and for allowing me to mess up your amazing song. It was a lot of fun.
