Back when schaffel peaked, all I heard about was The Orb’s “Cool Harbour,” which is a fair example of schaffel’s structure.
It wasn’t until a decade later that I discovered it, through Kompakt’s Schaffelfieber compilations.
I am fascinated with the variation from the 4/4 structure.
I think that 6/8 timing will lead to a new structure that will sound alien in comparison.
